And exuent Roger (and Girii), stage right. I’m sure they’ll be meeting each other again soon.
We’ve got four more pages, folks, and they’re all Jacob’s. Hang tight!

Girii: Our elders have committed terrible acts. But they were human. They were flawed. We can be better -- because we don't need to be human anymore!
Roger: Speak for yourself, Princess.
Roger: Speak for yourself, Princess.
Oh Girii…
Well that’s certainly ominous.
jacob is gonne be needed again
Why, oh why do I have the feeling that Jacob’s mission back in Chapter 1 was right on the mark? 🙁
Giri is the new Hitler. There will be another war in this (comic book) reality, and sadly, it may well be the last for everyone.
Doubtful. Fascism is towards an ideal and a homogeneous population that fits that ideal, not away from one. It’s really hard to maintain a cohesive “we are perfection, or at least superior” when you can’t agree on being a koala, giraffe, or cat-person deviant.
The more I think about it the more any attempt at “deviant supremacy” is doomed before it even gets started. The only gene-line we’ve seen that she could therefore champion everyone getting is the same empathy that makes it harder to hurt people.
And even if she uses her “push” to force people to get mods they weren’t otherwise going to get, it doesn’t stop them from dropping those mods later when they’ve developed a resistance to the empathy.
Admittedly, a counter-gene that turns people into sociopaths because they don’t want super-empathy ends up being an interesting source of strife, but that’s another story.
Let’s just hope Girii learned something from her time with Jacob.
By the way, I like that Roger is wearing Zoey’s glasses.
