I was able to turn on comment threading pretty easily.  Still looking for an ‘edit’ option, but I don’t think it exists.  I’ll do some research into it.

    There does not appear to be a means to log in with a password for comments. This means that it would be impossible to prevent people from altering other people’s comments. That would mean that allowing edits would be a security problem unless you used Disqus, the comment plugin used on wordpress.com, or something similar.
