The nature of evil may be epitomized, therefore, in two simple but horrible and holy propositions: ‘Things fade’ and ‘Alternatives exclude.’

Chapter 18, Page 7

Is the squishedtogetherfasttalking annoying?  I think it works for short sentences, not so much for longer text.  But I think we’re just about done with it anyway…

  1. John courage says:

He went from having two guns to one gun and pretending to hold a gun?

  2. Zarylo says:

Genocide Chipmunk stepping on landmine in
    3 … 2 … 1 …

  3. Mike says:

itworksifyou can’t make more that one word out of the letters, then it gets confusing.

  4. Moxie Man says:

I’m looking at the ground Msaka just ran through. I think she brought landmines as Zarylo said. We’ll see on Monday.

  5. ghostwhitehorse says:

    Turtle Power

  6. Drace says:

Detonation of buried explosives in 3..2…

  7. CBob says:

It’s not _really_ annoying, but I don’t “feel” like Genocide Men would talk like that. Jacob doesn’t, and “Jacob’s special because he’s a main character” (or he’s special because any reason, really” just seems like a big, arbitrary inconsistency. Either they all talk like that, or none of them do, and frankly them talking like that is 1) unrealistic (yes, I know this is a comic in the future with genegineering and a global genocide bureau, shut up) and 2) silly. Just my opinion. Again, it’s not really a huuuuge deal, just if I had my druthers 😉

  8. Hangman says:

@ CBob – If you remember when Lola gave these soldiers the ‘serum’ (Chapter 17 page 8), she mentioned they didn’t have time to train them properly. I suspect Jacob has had LOTS of experience in how to sound normal whilst being able to move faster, like any properly trained Genocide Man. 🙂

  9. Pat Scaramuzza says:

You may get an explanation for how these trainees are different from Jacob pretty soon.

Also, ‘silly’ is part of this comic. Despite all the death and darkness, I do want it to be funny every now and then. 🙂

  10. CBob says:

Hangman – fair point. Soft sci-fi, though. Which, I mean, this obviously isn’t a hard sci-fi comic, but there’s soft like cat fur and then there’s soft like MUH DICK

Pat – also fair point. I’m just niggling. I do that a lot, because obviously my zombie comic would be flawless in every way 😉

  11. Pat Scaramuzza says:

I’ve tried to keep this comic as hard sci-fi as possible, although I know the anthropomorphics sort of break that. As I said, there are reasons why the trainees are unlike Jacob.
