I wanted to put more Jian Shi translated comments in this chapter. I always like to have comic relief in these tense moments. Maybe I’ll go back and add a little more zombie humor…

Jacob: Been fighting for 80 years.
Caera: And you think that allows you to turn away?'
Jacob: At some point, a man deserves to retire.
Caera: Not at our level of skill. The best of us have an obligation to fight until we no longer can. The human race needs its champions or it will die!
Jacob: Maybe. Maybe they deserve to, if they can't live without me.

Caera still doesn’t seem to understand that Jacob isn’t actually “fighting” her here, more like dodging every blow. He could easily shoot her in the head in that last panel, but obviously doesn’t want to……………..
Also, Caera, maybe listen to the super-old guy instead of assuming you’ll be young forever?

Also, Jacob… maybe mention that, rather than turn your back on the world, you’ve been doing your own little piece to save it for years? Jacob? Jake? …You’re just trying to self-terminate again, aren’t you?
i cant help but wonder, will the zombies asume that all humans are THAT good at fighting and rethink things?
I mean they are soo good that they had a conversation while fighting eachother as well as the Zombies. would make me rethink things.
Is it not a wonder to watch puppies trying to teach old dogs new tricks?
Or as we use to say:”When all else fail, try doing what the Captain suggested”!
