Chapter 16, Page 3

I *like* drawing Jacob’s lightning bolts.  I’d do it every chapter if I could, but to have enough targets for that he’d have to start killing members of the main cast.  Hmn…

Caera: Jacob Doe! I need answers from you!
Jacob: Answers? Huh. Okay. Step into my office.
Caera: Are you hoping these monsters will kill me?
Jacob: They help me kill you, or you help me kill them. I'm good either way.

  1. Sonja says:

I like how the zombie in the last panel on the left side is using his gun…

  2. Moxie Man says:

I love how the “zombies” are wielding just about anything they can get their hands on from pitchforks, to hammers to guns to what looks like a 10-pin bowling pin.

  3. Jordan says:

I wonder if Shou knows that the ‘zombies’ are sentient? I wonder how she feels killing them, knowing that they used to be her countrymen?

  4. G says:

Is the casual combat dialogue a Genocide Man upgrade or are they just that stylish?

  5. Ming the Merciless says:

The big bowling pin was used in China’s medieval times by the occasional giant in pairs to crush opponents heads…very effective according to some engravings…One may question why the use of a sword with people with guns…In warlord times, not so long ago, it was still used by the Lords’ assassin commandos and thought more deadly, in pair with the Mauser broomhandle on the left hand. The Mauser’s trigger was pulled by the middle finger, not the index and shot gangsta style, sideway…it was said to be far more accurate this way(impossible to do with a 1911 type of pistol)

  6. Pat Scaramuzza says:

Casual dialogue in combat is a comic book tradition that I’m happy to participate in. 🙂

  7. Pat Scaramuzza says:

Oh, and I told Kasey to give the Jian Shi hammers, pitchforks, etc. I’m pretty sure the bowling pin was his brilliant idea. 🙂

  8. Ming the Merciless says:

Speaking of the “Daddy Warbuck, Orphan Annie” blank eyes of the genocide men…here’s another comic using that:

  9. Paddy says:

Reminds me of the classic Doom 2 tactic of leading different enemies into situations where they fought each other. Easily the most ammunition-efficient way of killing them 🙂
