Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

It’s nice to finally have dialogue.  Much better than monologue.  🙂

Jacob is such a dark character that it’ll take more than one companion to balance him out.  But we’re getting there.

Jacob: And the mind reading? Telepathy's been disproven -- the brain doesn't radiate any signals.
Girii: My dad calls it empathy. We read body language, noises, motions, smells. He's better at it than I am. I don't often get specific words, but...you're in a lot of pain, Jacob.
Jacob: I'm just bruised. My bones are laced with ceramic nanocomposites, they're unbreakable.
Girii: I'm not talking about your bones.
Jacob: I'm asking the questions. Is your hair really blonde?
Girii: Geeze. We finally get a genocide man up here, and he wants to know our beauty secrets. Yes, I'm a natural blonde. But I darken the roots. I hope that's not a crime.
Jacob: You know that I'm a genocide man?
Girii: Sure.
Jacob: So you know what I'm here to do. I kill families. Whole gene lines. I'm here to kill yours.
Girii: That's why I was in town trying to intercept you. We'd like to talk you out of it.
