Many things in a story like this are, of course, planned out far in advance. I have an outline for when things have to happen, I have plans for how to make them happen, and so on.
But some parts of the story happen by instinct. And I knew, instinctively, that Lola Lamb would be dealing with Kevin herself. This woman is the architect of the 21st century, the person who wrote the Berkshire Charter and founded the Genocide Project. She is Steven Hawking with an iron will and zero compunction about committing murder for the social good. Kevin should not have gotten on her bad side.
“The bars on the cage aren’t there to protect the tiger… and the tiger isn’t [him]”
Lola
Take my advice
DO.NOT.STOP.FIRING!
If he’s HALF as tough as Joey you have a MAJOR fight on your hands!
Lola needs to put him down fast before Caera comes in and tears up the gun… followed by tearing up Lola. And I think Caera would disagree with the ‘drive away fear, terror, brutality, and oppression’ part considering the Chinese zombie plaque.
During the “Warring States” period, after a defeat, one million soldiers were buried alive…That particular China was not a threat anymore, but the five or so remaining Chinas are much more prudent since…Maybe this will make Caera more circumspect…
Did Kevin heal from the first shot already? He looks uninjured when he jumps up.
“Terror oppression BRUTALITY. These are obsolete. We drove them away” Says the woman whit the REALLY brutal gun mounted on her TANK!
The only thing that bothers me here is the gouge on the desk — it’s not in line with the path from the gun.
I think kevin just lost the artery going to his left arm. What is he going to do now ? Gnaw her to death?
I’m still not sure why she hired these loonies in the first place. Aw well. Probably get more monologue about it eventually.
And, as we all knew all along, Lola is a pretty cool lady in both senses of the word.
“Just can’t hire good help these days.”
Also, I hear “Obsolete” in the voice of Fritz Weaver in the TZ episode “The Obsolete Man.”
Cool- Kevin was obviously out o control, just like psycho Joey. Clearly both needed to be wiped out.
Had no doubt Lola would be up to the job.
She IS Boss Lady! And I totally enjoy her appearances!
Her and Jacob understand the ugly truth of necessity for greater good.
Anyhoo-Enjoying the story as ever! Carry on dear Remus:) MUchas GRacias!
“Gouge not in line”
Never heard of artistic license? We got the idea.
The seven next shots were not a miss…and the heavy caliber guarantee Kev is history.
Overkill ensure obsolete malicious Kevin is gone…with an obit!
Remus, I really like how Lola is similiar to my character Kirta, no even more mature. I hope you take no offence when I take Lola as further inspiration for my galactic, oligarchic, somewhat-ruthless, female imperator 🙂
You can look her up in my wiki if you want, Kirta should have a somewhat English entry.
Looks like things aren’t going so well for Kevin at the moment.
So how is Lola going to explain the Jian Shi thing to Caera?
Lola did as she was whacking Kevin…
“We drove them away” Planned obsolescence?
Will Caera swallow it? She better…
As self centered twat, she’s worse than Kevin.
I’m guessing that Kevin and Joey slowly went more and more psycho as time went on. Joey was probably more obvious, since he actually had to have his disease case taken away, but it’s pretty obvious that Kevin had long since gone off the deep end. Peter probably realized how fucked up things were and just wanted to end it while he was still himself. Jacob is still fighting to keep himself on a moral ground that he can live with. Lola also appears to retained some semblance of morality, though she’s definitely capable of self-delusion.
‘There is no ‘overkill’, only ‘Open Fire’ and ‘I need to reload”.
Eli…
I hear “you are obsolete” in the voice of Xan from UT99. BOW DOWN.
