The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is
not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s
indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.

Chapter 14, Page 4

Everyone is making predictions!  Let’s have a poll about this.  I can’t give you any hints, of course…

But I do have something related to the future of the comic that you need to know.  Michael Yakutis has turned in the last pages for chapter 14, and with those he is leaving for a bright career opportunity.  I only know some rumors about what he’s doing, but the boy may be making it big soon.

Fear not!  With Michael’s help I have hired a new artist — Kasey Quevedo, who is very accomplished artist for games and comics.  You can take a look at Kasey’s work at his website, or go straight to his comic Velocidad if you want to see what he’s bringing to the party.  Kasey is already handing in pages for Chapter 15 and I think he’s going to work out great.  I’ll remind you all to welcome Kasey at the start of Chapter 15, but he might be reading now so go ahead and say hi!

Lola: Kevin, you can't --
Trilby: Miss Lamb?
Lola: Hold on. Yes?
Trilby: This is security chief Trilby. We have a situation. Caera Shou has taken over the security room. You asked us to turn off the cameras in director Kidd's office, but she's turned them back on. There's nothing I can do.
Kevin: Is there a problem?
Lola: Yes. So let's make this quick.

Discussion (12)¬

  1. --jt-- says:

Mr. “Red Shirt” Trilby, of course!

  2. Moxie Man says:

What? I can’t vote “The World”? (chuckle)

  3. Rahka says:

I concur with Trilby being in quite the pickle if Caera realizes that he contacted Lola.

  4. The Sidhekin says:

Shouldn’t that be “superman in chief”? The guy’s supposed to be British, not German. Right? 😛

  5. Kirta says:

@Sidhekin: As a German guy I can tell you, Ubermensch sounds much more menancing than Superman. Because Superman is a hero, where Ubermensch is a part of dark, racist, German history. Also let me give you some Üs, Remus!
    ÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüü

  6. Matt40000 says:

    Übermensch-in-chief, nice.

    Let’s see:
Caera is probably the most dangerous face-to-face, but has the least experience
Kevin “hates going into the field” but has massive power politically
Lola is driving a small tank and felt confident enough to confront Kevin in his office.

    Tough call

  7. Ubermensch in chief: as if we didn’t need any further evidence he was the villain of the story.

  8. Ming the Merciless says:

Not for long…and the uber villains in here are female…hint:(who has more neurones win)

  9. Madorakas says:

Aww! Trilby you git, you ruined a potentialy epic fight. Sure hope Caera rips you a new one 🙁

  10. Elihias says:

    Kasey’s taking over the art-work?
You’ve made a good choice, Velocidad rocks!

    *wave* Hi Kase!

    Eli…

  11. Drunken Nordmann says:

    @Kirta
Originally, Übermensch didn’t have to do anything with racism. Nietzsche defined the Übermensch as a being transcending human limitations.
Then his Nazi sister got a hold of his writings after his death and tarnished his reputation.
Also, everything seems to sound menacing if it’s in German. I could order a meal and people would accuse me of threatening the waiter. We just have this harsh-sounding language. Not everyone can sound like he’s singing as the French do. 🙂

  12. Mark Linimon says:

Velocidad is very well-drawn. I look forward to this new chapter. Very sad to lose Michael Yakutis who has taken this to another level — but he deserves the best.
