Chapter 10, Page 21

This new writer/art arrangement is so odd for me.  Michael is turning in pages two chapters ahead of this (terrific stuff, by the way), and I’m writing ahead of him.  It can be a difficult mental switch to come back here.  On the good side, that means I can tweak the dialog so that it’s extra ironic later.  🙂

Lola: ...but it's a fatal flaw against someone like Jacob.
Caera: But don't I have every advantage he does?
Lola: His augments are not what makes Jacob dangerous. He has 80 years experience in combat, including operationsl knowledge of every military on Earth. He's too much tactician for you.
Caera: Too much for Kevin?
Lola: A toddler playing tiddlywinks has better tactics than Kevin. Kevin's way is to find Jacob, then turn the area into a parking lot. Then bomb the lot until he sees magma. Whatever you do, don't follow Kevin's example.
Caera: So how would you defeat Jacob Doe?
Lola: (sigh) I'd play on his guilt...

  1. Magtei says:

That does fit with Kevin’s previous actions. We can probably expect magma on that island before she gets there.

  2. Ming the Merciless says:

If she follow the advise, Jake is in BIIIIG trouble…HOWEVER…(Yes there’s always an “however”…and a “if”)

  3. Konrad says:

You have a buffer? That’s cheating! Real webcomics are drawn hours before they’re supposed to be posted!

  4. Jerden says:

Remember kids, sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can utterly destroy you.
Why use weapons of mass destruction, when you can try something far more effective – guilt trips!

  5. Remus Shepherd says:

Michael has a buffer, because he’s professional. 🙂 I don’t have a buffer at the moment — I lost it by taking too much vacation time over Easter. But I’ll build it up again.
