I couldn’t bring myself to put the ‘mist screen’ effect on every panel. Michael’s art was just too cool. I think it works just on the last, though.

Jacob voiceover: Yep, that's a G.U.S. recon team. Springer drones with gauss guns. Nasty. Can't dodge that auto-targeting shotgun. They're looking for me, all right. Those weapons are so bulky... Hang on. Ah-hah. Sold.
These gun-dogs are creepy…
I think it works on the last one only – it’s the only one where we clearly see the image displayed, not just recorded.
Prefer to go light, eh Jacob?
Those ‘gun dogs’ are logical extrapolations of equipment being developed right now; four legged robot pack mules, gun carriers, scouts and the like.
I agree. I like the effect of seeing them…then pulling through the screen.
I like the concept of mobile equipment, but I’m hesitant to suggest they be armed and automated at the same time.
My biggest concern would be how the robot ID’s hostiles, and friendlies. Murphy says that all it takes is a minor accident to screw up the system and you get a nasty mess on your hands.
It would be worse in combat scenarios, people are actively trying to invoke Murphy on you.
Pah! The G.U.S. leaders aren’t hesitant. Their thinking says, “Someone might have tested a blood sample? Murder the hospital!”
The gundogs know that friendlies wear “don’t shoot me” beepers, and the rest of us are all just collateral. “We seem to be made to suffer. It’s our lot in life.”
If that’s G.U.S.’s recon team I’d hate to run into their spec ops squad.
