I’m struggling a bit with the art on the next few pages. Not that it’s difficult; the problem is that the pages have talking head syndrome. At least it’s a juicy conversation, but I have to think up some graphics to spice them up.
And don’t worry, not all the chapter is talking heads. We’ll be closing the chapter with a spot of the ol’ ultraviolence…

Jacob: I know you're a newsman, Roger. But you can keep a secret, can't you?
Roger: Sure.
Jacob: I've been looking at the 2018 gene standard the A.I. gave us. It doesn't match the 2079 standard. Thing is, my genome matches the original from 2018...while every other person I've sampled matches the current standard.
Roger: So -- are you genetically modified or not?
Jacob: I'm not. Everyone else is.
Roger: Sure.

Been a reader since before GM.. I love your work..But mostly I wanted to express my excitement at the clockwork orange reference. Also, I don’t care if you draw stick figures, I just want to hear the rest of this conversation.
whoa – is that a bombshell … or is that something that just has to get out into the wider public. (telling a newsman to keep a secret my ar$e! )
Big question now is: what’s been changed?
Now, Genocideman has to kill everyone…
So he’s not super strong or fast at all! Everyone else is slow. Well dang.
not necessarily..It was already shown all the non-genetic modification that was done to him..That his genes are unchanged doesn’t make him any less superhuman.
OK, now this is getting way more interesting than before!
“KALI” is highlighted in panel 4. *twitch*
Good catch, ghostwhitehorse. ‘KALI’, and all the other names on that list, are actual human genome names. You can search them up at the HGNC database.
Don’t expect to find any hints there about what the gene changes may be, however. All you might find out is that the genes listed have something to do with the immune system, the endocrine system, and brain function.
I highlighted ‘KALI’ because it makes a nice subliminal danger sign. This chapter is all about raising the tension…
And Jacob killed them all – end of the story. 😉
I wonder if Lola Lamb has something to do with all these genetical modifications. She is suspicious…
